Not going to happen. Although I have heard a few (2) reports of isolated white screens, but I think they were able to restore.

Look don't worry about it getting bricked.. I was petrified of jailbreaking my iPod for the first time too, and I finally said.. f*** IT.. I did it and I never looked back.. Just follow the steps as seen in many tutorials on YouTube or threads on iPod Touch Fans.. Everything will go fine.. If you find yourself stuck trouble shoot and if all the trouble shooting doesn't work come back to iPod Touch Fans use SEARCH and see if you can find a thread about your problem if you can't find a thread then post one for help.. If all else fails and your iPod happens to get bricked, restore it in iTunes and try it again if you like.. Remember, theres no such thing as a bricked iPod unless you physically through it against the wall and or ran over it with a car, smashed it on pavement, put it in water for and hour, or microwave it for about 10 minutes..

well.... i mean its not like the programs are going to be hidden somewhere in your ipod waiting for you to release them...

so yes you do need to be connected to wifi to download... anything from anywhere
