I have a ipod touch 1g 16gb w/firmware 2.1.1 I think (Ican't remember) but its jailbroken and recently my apps have been crashing but now it just shows the connect to itunes pic, it wont boot up , I tried to restore but it says " ipod could not be restored. An unknown error has occurred (1601)". Is it bricked /can it be fixed? Any help please....

Have you iPod connected, hold both buttons, and then when the iPod turns off, start holding the home button.

Have iTunes open, and then restore.

Thanks 4 yall responses but I have tried all that, the restore in Itunes came up with that error"Ipod could not be restored an unknown error occurred(1601)". Tried to use ziphone 3.0 to put it into dfu mode but no luck, just keeps tring to connect or something (the little spinning circle thing).
