My friend gave me his bricked 2g itouch because he got a new one and said i could have it if i fixed it, it had a connect to i tunes logo so i plugged it in to my vista 32bit computer, it said the ipod is locked with a passcode so i put it in DFU to restore it. when i tried to restore it i got an error message 1601. I tried different computer, switching usb ports and using i reb. When i used i reb nothing happened the screen did not go white and i have lib usb installed. Has anyone else had this problem and nos how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Update iTunes to the lastest version and update it 3.1.3 firmware. 90% of it working.

Restore it to 3.1.2 (or 3.1.3 if there is a jb for that)
    Then JB it.
