KAY, so i had a 1.1.3 jailbroke iPod. My installer kept crashing, i couldnt even install the bosstool to fix it. SO, i put my iPod in recovery mode. I thought that if i just shift click restore and put the 1.1.1 restore firmware on it, it will work. It didnt...it got to preparing iPod for restore and then said and unknown error occured (1603)

    Great.

Ya i tried that. Like just regular restore, got the same error, and it just stuck on the spinning wheel and gave me and error.

Did you put it into that special restore mode? There is no such thing as a bricked iPod

Yeah, i did. AND YES there is. EVERY single time i try to restore, it goes to preparing iPod for restore, is on the spinning wheel forever. Then it says could not restore ipod unknown error (1603)

bricking is pretty impossible. upgrade to latest itunes, use iphuc to "enterrecovery", restore from there i guess, no shift restores, a legit one.

that's what i usually do to fix my ipod if it's in a "bricked" state.
