I tried to jailbreak an 8GB Ipod Touch (Model: A1288) with Blackrain RC1, since it had firmware 3.1.2. After it ran the screen went black and never turned on again. If I connect the cable it doesn’t beep. I have ran LibUSB and it seems to recognize the Ipod as “Apple Mobile Device (DFU Mode)” . When I run Itunes 8.2 I get the message “Itunes has detected an Ipod in recover mode . You must restore this Ipod before it can be used with Itunes.” I have tried restoring with Itunes but get this message:IPod Could not be restored. An unknown error has occurred (1601).”

I'm not sure if that's the 3G iPod touch or not.

I think you may have to boot with BlackRa1n every time.
Connect the iPod and run it again.

His status says it is an iPod Touch

Have you actually tried putting it into DFU mode with the button presses?

Ran RC1 completely and the screen is still blank. Tried RC3 but is stuck in looking for phone.
Managed to run Restore on another PC with Itunes 9 and it worked.
Oh, and yes the version for the Ipod asks for BlackRain everytime it restarrts.
