Bricked iPod Touch 2G (PROOF)

    I was in the middle of jailbreaking it as you can see i didnt finish go through with the steps though.now my computer wont recognize it and iTunes doesn't either. any ideas?I've just seen this black screen for a couple of hours

    I've also tried to hold the sleep and home button at the same time for a minute and nothing happened but my computer just says USB device not recognized when its connected....

    I haven't watched the video yet, but try this:

    Hold the Power button and Home button for 10 seconds.
    Let go of the Power button, but keep holding the Home button for 7 seconds. Then try.

    Holding it for a minute really won't get you anywhere.
    Just to let you know, there have been MANY other people with the same "problem".

    An iPod Touch can NOT be bricked.

    You do understand it needs to be plugged in before going to DFU mode, right?

    You will get the "USB device not recognized" notice, and then you do what the guy above me said.

    Yeah, you have to be plugged in first. Then you put your device in DFU mode.

    Yes I've tried that too. and i tried holding the home button then pluging the usb cord into my iPod too. It says the same thing i cant see anything on my iPod touch!

    Don't worry, the only way to get it bricked is if you mess with termenal.

    Same thing happened to me when i was trying to jailbreak using voltage. if your using voltage to jailbreak use the DFU helper. your iPod isn't bricked.

    Didnt use voltage but tried DFU helper anyways....still didnt work
