I guess this is bye bye to the "CEO in waiting". I hope Jony Ive really does bring about some positive change. It's either very scary or very exciting when the head of a company's biggest division is fired/quits. I guess we'll see in about a year whether we should of been crying or cheering right now.

What for? Why are all these high-ups being shuffled around?

This wouldn't have happened under Steve Jobs!

No word on why he's leaving. "Apple also announced that Scott Forstall will be leaving Apple next year and will serve as an advisor to CEO Tim Cook in the interim." That's all we know as of yet.

    Why?

Exactly what strategic reasoning is behind this? As far as I know, Scott Forstall's been doing just fine!
Of course, here on iFans, people have started to call iOS "boring" because of its "closedness," lack of widgets and whatnot, but Apple's cash flow hasn't showed any signs of slowing and most people just don't seem to care.

I wonder if Sir Ive will present in the keynotes a bit now or if he will still be the man that lives in the idevice ads in that white room.
