Breaking Firmware

    Alright, I'm just about sick of this iPod touch. It isn't working right now with my computer, but restores don't fix it. But, the iPod is perfectly fine itself. Even DFU restores don't do it, as I am using 3rd party syncing (on Linux) to sync.

    Okay, so I think I'm gonna sell my iPod and get a different player. However, my iPod's kinda beat up (scratches here and there).

    Would anyone like to share a way to break the firmware as that Apple would give me a new iPod? Mine's still under warrenty (and will be for a long time).

    why not fix the problem instead getting rid of ur ipod, and the linux might be the problem

    Yeah, I know how to remove the whole root drive. I mean legit break the software. Not just remove everything.
