I have a brand new touch (or will have on Christmas day) and I'm sure it's going to be 1.1.2 when I crack open the box. My plan has been to jailbreak it right away but I have heard that a new touch with 1.1.2 can't be down graded to 1.1.1, is that true.

    No,
    That is not true...
You must use the Shift + Restore method to downgrade.

The 1.1.2 issue was only with iPhones, they were able to downgrade but still can't unlock 'em (Have another SIM besides the AT&T one's). Well, that's what I read xD
