My parents just bought me a brand new iPod and I figured I'd jailbreak it. I downloaded Absinthe 2.0 and tried to jailbreak it, but you know how you're supposed to set it up like a new device? I was stupid and tapped "restore with iTunes backup" (or whatever it is). Now I have no music app (not library, the *actual* *app*), not even an app store app!!! Just settings and a couple of other things like weather and stocks apps. I've tried a complete reset a whole bunch of times and it's done nothing. Help!!!
That's what I tried like 10 times after trying to restore from backup. Reset > erase all content and setting right? The waiting loop that's shown when shutting down just goes on forever when I did this (I literally mean forever... I sat there playing video games waiting for it for a good half hour or more). So then I forced shut down (home button + lock button, 10s) but when it rebooted it was still the same; vital apps were still missing. DO NOT EVER DO THAT FROM SETTINGS IF JAILBROKEN. *sigh* You must do a clean restore from iTunes. Plug your iPod into the computer and hold the home and sleep for ~10 secs then release sleep and keep holding home. If done right iTunes will pop up and say your device is in recovery, click restore and set up as new iPod.
