plug the device in to your computer, hold power + home buttons down for 10 seconds, then release the power button (keep home button held in till itunes detect it in recovery mode) which your acutally in dfu, do a restore and set it up as new device

Try DFU mode and tell us what itunes errors your getting.
It is very hard to brick an iphone.

Try putting it into DFU mode (what you did to jailbreak it in the first place) then shift click restoring with a firmware downloaded from the internet. (Google it, I can't provide it to you)

Yes you can, it's not a paid firmware, so it's ok. Go here to download it.

Is it in Recovery? If it is, just use iRecovery.
