Hi, I just bought a used 16gb ipod touch 3 days ago & for the past few days I've been trying to use it. The previous owner put a passcode on it & I've been trying to get in touch with her again because I can't get through it. I've tried to restore it with itunes but apparently I can't do that because the ipod isn't synced to my laptop. Is there anyway I can get passed it or did I really just waste my money?

Seems to me that in 3 days you could have tried every possible passcode combination.

One of the memebers here had a file with all of them. Let's see if we can find it.

The pascode will be a nuber between 0000 and 9999.

Please tell me you're kidding. Do you have any idea how many permutations there are!? There are 10,000 possible combinations. There is no WAY you could crack that in 3 days.

    Here's my advice:
    1) Ask the seller for the pin code or:
    2) Return it to who you stole it from.

DFU: Hold home and sleep for 10 seconds, let go of sleep while still holding home for 8 more seconds. Then restore.

Or, return it to the person you stole it from, like Meikura said.

fishnride - yea, probably. I just don't want to sit around putting in different passcodes & then have to wait awhile every few tries just to try again, ya know?

hiphopoking50 - that's what I've been trying to do, & to force a restore but still nothing. I always get the "ipod touch cannot be connected to itunes without the passcode" or whatever it says. =/ But I'll keep trying that if I can't find another way.

I'd take it to the apple store but the closest one is about 2-3 hours away & I don't have the time or gas money to do that.

Meikura & Make It sn0w - I did not steal it. If I did, I wouldn't be asking for help because I've looked all over the internet & saw how big of assholes people can be to people who stole it. So don't go assuming that it's not possible for someone to actually BUY a used ipod.

How did you buy it? Surely it's pretty easy to get into contact with the seller, right?
