Bought 2.1 off iTunes and can't update SOLVED

    Heyy there,

Today, I bought the Firmware 2.1 from the iTunes Store.

I've got an iPod Touch 1.1.4 not Jailbroken and fresh installed.
After downloading the Firmware through iTunes, all went good but suddenly an error appeared: "unknown error (13)"

After that i tried to do the same in Recovery Mode (error 1 or 1601)
and DFU Mode (error 6, 5, or 13)

I don't know what to do know.
How can i get 2.1 on my iTouch?

I just used iTunes 8 but none other versions.
Should I try to install older versions and do that stuff again?

I have to say that i had problems syncing my ipod with itunes.
After some music-titles were extracted on my ipod there was an error by aborting the synchronisation. I had to reconnect my ipod.

It would be very nice, if anyone of the board could help me solving this awful problem.
    i already got an head-ache =)

    Thanks!
    See Ya!

If you actually bought it from the store, move it out of the downloaded directory (but don't delete it, just in case) and then try to update your iPod. iTunes should try to re-download the update (for free if you had it before) and it should successfully update your iPod.

    .

I tried that but again I got the error number 5. "unknwon error".

Could it be possible that it will work when i install a previous itunes version? Like 7.7?
Also, i haven't Service Pack 3 for Windows... is that a reason too?

Now I'm trying to update it on my 2nd computer.
I hope it will work because i lost the whole day cause of that!!

    Thanks for your respones!
    See ya.

    So,

forget that thing with the 2nd computer...

I installed Service Pack 3 without succes by updating the ipod.
I get the error 1601 ... even I'm in DFU Mode...

Of course I tried to re-download it.
Error 5 ... what the hell is up with my ipod / itunes

Should I try to install an older version?

Please, ... this little thing gets on my nerves...

You may have to restore instead of update if you haven't tried it already.

I have had this happen to me, it is a glitch in iTunes...
Back up all your music, movies and so on then completely remove iTunes and reinstall it from scratch...
Or use another computer for updates but you will have to restore for every update...
