The lower part of my iPod touch's touchscreen does not respond. For example, at the lock screen, I have to use the very top of the slide bar in order to unlock it. The apps on the bottom of the iPod (default music videos photo etc) do not work (I cannot start them) and the bottom row of the keyboard does not work no matter what I try. I originally had my 2g ipod jailbroken when this problem arose, but I restored back to original firmware by using DFU mode, and I've restored my ipod at least 5 times, but it still does not work. Should I take back to apple for replacement (if I go this way, how can I remove all traces of jailbreak?) or can I fix this (like by SSHing or something)
thanks to anybody who can help

That's seems like a hardware problem. I would send it back to Apple. If you restore your iPod there's no way they can trace you jailbreaking your iPod.
