I know it is not uncommon for the iPod to heat up while charging, but this time only one part of my IPT 2g is heating up. Looking at the back, the bottom right it hot. Opposite the headphone jack. The metal is hot, and the glass on the front is warm. I don't know if this is normal, as I never noticed it before, if it even happened before. I am using a charging cable that came with my old 2g Nano, but i've been using it for a long time. But today, it was in my back pocket at school, so could it have been damamged?

    TIA

I was in service once and i was told that charging unit of ipod is placed exactly in the palce you are talking about.
So probably something is wrong with that (try another cable to make sure it is ipod problem).
it is not normal for ipod to warm too much while charging.
Btw what was the temperature in the room while you were charing it?
