My bottom 2 rows are completely frozen. There were working fine at the gym (i was selecting music at the bottom left of the dock) and when I left, I tried to go back into the music menu, and found that the bottom two rows of the interface will not work at all. I've tried restarting, plugging into itunes and charging, and even tried to rearrange the icons but it won't let me drag down to/from the bottom 2 rows..

I realllllly really don't want to have to force restore and jailbreak again and then put all of my music back on....help!?

It seem that Apple has manufactured MANY faulty screens. You can TRY a restore. But most likely you'll have to take it back to Apple.

Is this known to happen to many people? It seems so weird that it is precisely the bottom 2 rows that wont work. It seems more logical that a few random icons would go out, or maybe only 1 or 2, but exactly every one in the bottom 2 rows - suddenly and unexpectedly?

well does that portion of the screen work on other applications?
I had a similar problem where the icons on the dock would not work. turned out it was just a bad summerboard theme. i put it on a different theme and it was fine.

nope, its all the time, no matter what i am doing. i cant unlock it or touch anything on the dock or the row above it. and fyi, the restore did not work, and apple is going to charge me $30 to ship it in and fix it and ship it back.

Apple usually doesn't charge money for their warenty. If you restored, and call them then they will ship you a box. You put your iPod into the box send it back to them, and they send you another iPoT.
