I'm working on a little project, and I'm not on my usual computer. I'm on a Compaq Presario 2200 (inorite). I'm trying to boot from USB, problem is, there isn't an option to boot from USB.

    What should I do? XD

You shouldn't boot from USB? Wasn't that obvious?

when the computer boots, for a short time it will display a screen that says something like "press [key, usually esc or f10] to change boot options"

press that key and it will lead you to the options for booting, including boot to

and thanks for reminding me, I need to re-install linux on my flash drive...

    what? booting from usb?

not at all. the usb device only holds the OS, but the computer does all the work. I've put multiple OS's onto a usb device and never had a really long boot time. its also very convenient because you can take your computer with you wherever you go, with all of your settings and programs already set.

The boot options are in the BIOS as far as I'm aware, and the BIOS on university comps is locked on a pass

for dell computers its f12, just look at the top right as the boot screen is up, its usually very quick tho, and then itll give you options where to boot from
