The new app from Cydia BookReader came out.
How do you get books on it? xD
Doesn't it only read .html? Does it also read .pdf? I didn't install it since I wasn't sure. But I am not sure where to place the books at.
HTML. Downloading right now, but for most eBook readers, its private/var/mobile/Media/eBooks (Case Sensitive)
So you get a book online in HTML form save it and then SSH it into the ebooks folder?
Exactly. If you know how to read XML files, use this: http://www.drinkmalk.com/books/index.xml
There's some HTML books.
This is just what I was waiting for for my iPod Touch. I have tons of eBooks but the ones on the app store would not let me use the ones I already had. Thanks to whoever made this for 2.0!
I can confirm the folder is: /private/var/mobile/Media/eBooks
anyone know how to setup/use the chapters function in this program? I have determined it searches the document for chapter markers but what they are i can't tell.
so books downloaded from installer on 1.1.x could just be transferred to this folde on 2.0 and then read with this reader right? in that case presumably when installer comes out for 2.0 someone will build a repo of free books again like on 1.1.x?
Ya I have no idea how to read XML ><
Yes I believe that books from 1.1.x could be transferred to 2.0. however, the chapter functionality would not copy over. Also, you are better off looking at Cydia for new book repos, rather than waiting for an installer port. Even if it was ported, 95% of the stuff on it wouldn't be compatible.
