I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with Windows Vista Ultimate and Ubuntu 9.04. I tried to connect my iPod touch 2nd gen with my laptop to play through my laptop speakers, and I did get it partially working on Vista. It would probably act properly with a driver installed for it. It plays through my laptop speakers, but it seems to cut out constantly, then once it actually gave my laptop a Blue Screen, but it restarted and it's all fine now. On Ubuntu, I had a much easier time getting it paired and all, but I couldn't really figure out a way to activate it on Ubuntu though. Can ordinary people (who know what they're doing, obviously) make a driver for the iPod touch so it functions normally, or can only Apple do that?
