Since the ipsw isn't encrypted wouldn't it be possible to unlock bluetooth on 2.2.1 using the 3.0 beta stuff.

it is possible that someone could perhaps reverse the 3.0 coding to unlock the bluetooth on the 2.2.1.

    Is the ipsw really unencrypted?
If it is, why doesn't the dev team jailbreak already, I thought they couldn't right now because they are lacking a key.

But I think even if its unencrypted it would be illegal because it is Apple's property.

yes it isn't encrypted but the key is hidden this time.
Anyway what do u mean hitman wouldn't it be possible to just take the bluetooth part and just combine it with the 2.2.1 ipsw by just extracting and compiling again.

I dont think the devs want to jailbreak a beta.

Was there a 2.0 beta Jailbreak?

The firmware is the tightest encryption there's ever been on a firmware; what are you talking about? That's the main reason it isn't jailbroken by the public yet.

Just wait, in two months or so you'll be able to BUY the firmware update, where you can OFFICIALLY have blue-tooth on your iPod.

Unless you're one of THOSE people.

    I am waiting 'til June.

First of Gitykins you can put boot logos without jailbreaking on 3.0 cause its not encrypted. second its not jailbroken because the key isn't in plain sight this time.

Anyway the reason i was wondering this is because this way anyone developing apps using the bluetooth can work on this.

Imbposibble :> BT functions are kernel related

Please Register or Log in to view images

BT works thanks to 3.0's kernel that can't be merged with 2.2.1 without source code

You miss terms :> BT is not "locked" in technical way and because of that it's not possible to unlock it magical way

BT simply don't have software fundamentals to work properly.
