After you have clicked finish, your iPod Touch 2G will be having a black screen, it will be dead now. Just double click on Redsn0w.exe and follow the steps again. Your iPod Touch 2G will spring to life again.

I have the same problem too, stuck on BLACK SCREEN that is. It's very tiring you know, to get back to a fresh 3.0 and jb-FAILED, and go back to a fresh 3.0 again and jb-FAILED and again and again and again. I'm sick of it. Hope there's another way of jb-ing iPod Touch 2g.

Imma stay on the 2.2.1 for a while before it's history Gonna miss it someday.

I found the solution to the problem of the black screen, after the jailbreak
I think the blackscreen is caused because we are using 64 bit. So I put the computer in safe mode with NETWORKING and I go to redsnow .072 and I runed as administrator then I run it like windows xp sp2 and I installed without internet connection and it works!!!!!! i hope this works

Rexisrex, you are a hero. I've been trying all sorts for two days and this worked.

Use quickpwn and follow the steps till you hit the whitescreen and unplug the usb from the ipod.

Close quickpwn, plug the ipod back in, open redsn0w, follow onscreen instructions.

This worked first time after trying it about 20 times in the last two days.

Do it from a fresh restore, close all non crucial background processes. (look for EndItAll on google if you aren't sure) Read other related posts on this board too!

I GOT IT!!! THE SOLUTION!! the ipod 3.0 jailbreak blackscreen problem!

SOLUTION

1. reset your ipod, dont reset it to anything saved, just close itunes when its done
2. reboot your computer and before the win logo press/hold f8 to get in advanced options(if u dont get it, google it)
3. Choose Safemode with networking "IF YOU DONT CHOOSE WITH NETWORKING IT WILL NOT WORK!"
4. log in as admin
5. find your redsnow folder
6.and just jailbreak it wiht redsnow..and now you wont get the black screen!

oh, haha cuckaboy, i posted it again, well..here is my verision and cuckaboy, i love you! you helped me with the jailbreaking,..the prob i had was that i didnt started it with networking!

the solution to this particular predicament is this, download redsn0w 0.7 and 0.72

THEN run both and get both to the screen right before it starts jailbreaking (the screen before it tells you to get the ipod into DFU)

THEN click next on 0.7 wait untill it uploads first stage then click next on 0.72

WARNING this might take a couple of tries, i dont know why this works but it does and did for me, i had the EXACT same problem and i joined the forums JUST to post the answer because i couldnt find a solution that actually worked!

i jailbroke my ip 2G 3.1.3 in Safemode but the blackscreen still remained !!! i must've tried 100 times
