Seems alot of people have asked similar question but not this one. blackra1n rc3 just came out for Itouch 3rd gen. I have a 32gig Itouch 3rd gen, will it work untethered with this jailbreak?

I installed it last night, and all worked fine. I shut off the Itouch last night, and this morning when I turn it on, it wants to connect to Itunes. When I connect to Itunes, it says it needs to be restored and all my stuff will be deleted.

If this is untethered, please explain what I must NOT do to create issues?

If it IS tethered, what must I not do? I don't want to make this mistake again.

    Thanks

I don't have the 3G or 3GS Iphone, so please don't confuse me.

I can't run blackra1n if my Itouch won't boot up. It is showing me a screen upon bootup, that requests connection to Itunes. When I connect to Itunes, it says I need to restore my Itouch.

Do I need to restore my Itouch at this point to start over? If so, please answer my 1st post about caveats to being tethered or untethered.

I could restore and start all over again, but then what?

I think he meant 3g as is 3rd generation iPod touch.

The fact that your iPod touch is showing a iTunes logo means it is booting up....You'll have to run Blackra1n while your touch is at this screen in order for it boot properly.

and yes, the iPod touch 3rd generation is still tethered. You will do what I described above EVERY TIME you reboot(turn off and on) your iPod.

OK, thanks for the info. I re-ran blackra1n and my Itouch booted up. Sorry if I seemed frustrated.

So as long as I don't shut it off, I can use as normal? If I do shut it off, is there any other way other than connecting to a laptop to start up my Itouch?

Do you think an untethered version is coming?

My co-worker has an Iphone 3GS, and I think he is untethered.

OK, I've got Cydia installed, and I can't find Jiggy program. I've read that it's under "Development" category of Cydia. I can't find it anywhere, I've even done a search.

I'm trying to use Offline maps, and I've read I need jiggy to use it.

You should use Rock but anywho, you do not need Jiggy to use offline maps (I am using offline maps, just forgot what it is called).

Why use Rock when not all packages work with it?

I reccomend oMaps (from the AppStore) much easier to use

With my experiences in Rock, all programs worked and I have over 300 jailbreak packages.
