I just bought a 16gb iPhone 3GS with 3.1.2fw. I used blackra1n on it and after a billion attempts it worked and I installed cydia and all, I was installing apps online and then my iPhone went right into restore mode? I spent another 2 hours trying to blackra1n it again and eventually i got it to work again. Once I got it working all the apps and everything were still on it so nothing was wrong. now ANYTIME I blackra1n my 3GS to get it out of restore and DFU my iPhone is normal but as soon as I respring or reboot after installign something it goes right back into restore mode? Any help on how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance

It will go into restore mode after a reboot since it is a tethered jailbreak.

Respring will NOT affect this at all

what is that exactly? I havent been around here for awhile. Do they have an untetherd one? so anytime I restart my iPhone its automatically going to do that and i have to re blackra1n it?

Yes unfortunately mate, I'm in the same boot. Got my new 3GS Friday gone. it's since apple decided to ship new iphone 3GS models with a new iBoot to prevent the jailbreak really.

Clearly didn't stop it however it isn't untethered yet.

    Geohots is working on it:

Yup resprings are fine, just watch your battery life.

Beware some apps require a reboot after install so make sure you are near a pc when installing these.

Or if not just respring using SBSettings after app install

Screen stop responding every once in a while after jailbreak with blackra1n

    Hello everyone!
I hope I'm not the only one with this issue and if possible I would really like to heard about a solution to fix this.

I have notice this issue since I have jailbreaked my iPhone 3GS.

I have jailbreaked my device with blackra1n rc2.

Even since, every once in a while, my screen will stop randomly to respond to my touch. The ONLY way to fix it when it happens is to press on the power button to turn the screen off, then simply press on it again to turn it back on.

And voilĂ ! Problem solved! But for how long?

When it happen I'm not running a certain application.

The only thing special really about my system is that I run Winterboard like a lot a people and that I use FiveIconDock.

Can anybody can relate to my issue how know what could be the issue? Is it related to the RC2 version of Blackra1n?

    Thanks everybody for your time!

    Cheers!

Restore it, but don't jailbreak it for awhile. If it still happens, bring it back to Apple. Sorry I can't be any more helpful, it's just that I've never seen or heard of a problem like this. At least not because of the jailbreak.
