So i've been having a problem.
I've got a ipt3 8gb model (and I know this for absolute sure because I bought it from my own work to make sure [stupid, should've got a 2g]).
Before you go on about the model numbers and MC/MB, I know all of that, but the Australian ones are different.
My model number begins with A1.
I can't find any info on this board about that, and I checked with a friend with a 2nd gen ipod touch 8gb and his starts with A1 also.
I got my touch as soon as my store got the new ones in and it came with 3.1 firmware out of the box (plus, they have a different barcode, so I know its not a Gen 2).

    So heres the problem:
I've tried blackra1n 3 times now, and the exact same thing happens each time.
It seems that it does load blackra1n on there, but then it gets to the final stage where the button says "wait for reboot..." and its frozen there.
My ipod screen goes from the image of geohot, to the image with a loading bar down the bottom, then to black in around 15 seconds, and then stays black.
I've tried turning it on, putting it in DFU mode, taking it out the USB port (when its on "wait to reboot...") and the ipod is completely unresponsive.
Plug it back in and iTunes says its in DFU mode, bla bla.

Some more info if you want it:
    - Running 3.1.1 official firmware, downloaded through iTunes
    - It does come up with a success message on blackra1n saying please donate, if you paid for this get your money back, etc, etc (I'm sure you've seen it) - This happens right before the final stage of "wait for reboot..."

So basically i'm puzzled. It seems that it does jailbreak it, but then gets stuck on the reboot?

Heres the log left behind by blackra1n:

So i'm really not sure what to do!
From reading the log (and other ones that have failed for people), it looks like it all goes fine.

Hopefully someone here can help me, I'd really appreciate it, for all us Aussies, it'd help a lot to sort out this model number problem too!

    THANKS!

*PS* Sorry about the massive explination, but people are always asking for more info, so here's all the info I can think off!

    That an absolute deffinite?
Because the MB/MC model numbers are both ipt3 i'm pretty sure, and why would the aus ones be A1 for both 3rd/2.5 Gen and the 2nd Gen?

it doesn't matter what the model numbers are, the fact is the 8GB IPT3G cannot be jailbroken with the current methods

Eh, damn. Guess i'll have to wait till greenpois0n then...
Still, most model numbers change as they go from generation to generation, especially seeming as the american versions did... guess I was just hoping.
    Thanks anyway.
Stupid apple, should've just bought a 2nd Gen...

    MB = 2G
MC = updated 2G (or what's described as the 3G) that can't be jailbreoken
PC = an MC that has been engraved

I believe you looked for Model Number on the back of your ipt...
You should check it in Settings->Genral->About->Model.

    And ... Good luck...
