On my 2g touch, when i install blackrain, my programs still tell me its jailed. Why is this?

And for some reason its still tethered. Did i miss a step?

I downloaded blackra1n, hit make it ra1n, and everything went fine till i installed WinterBoard, which required a reboot now its asking me to plug into itunes for recovery. (to my limited knowledge this means its still tethered?)

    Some help would be nice.

what do you mean about the apps? Why would they run any differently jailbroken or not?

Because winterboard required a reboot, so it showed me my ipod is still tethered.

I was under the impression Blackra1n made it jailbroken and untethered. Am i wrong? Because its doing neither of these..

It is tethered for iPod touch 3G and iPhone 3GS, later models, and untethered for the rest. You need to plug it in and run blackra1n every time you reboot, that's just the deal.

I think the issue here is that he says he has a 2g ipod..

    Yeah, so it's not tethered.

But for him it is ? He said after rebooting for winterboard he needed to connect it to iTunes (or in this case blackra1n) to boot it up. I think this is a case of idiocy and he actually has a 3g.

    It can't be tethered for a 2G, he has a 3G.
