So I just got a 64g ipt3 for Christmas and I tried jailbreaking it with blackra1n on windows XP and it won't work. I know its tethered and I've run blackra1n twice (once to jailbreak and once to boot) many different times and nothing is working. Is this because its on windows XP or what other problems are possible? All help is greatly appreciated!

NOTE: I've jailbroken my 16g ipt2 several times before so Im not new to this.

What exactly is the problem with it?
What does it do, error messages, can you give us anything?

Oh yeah sorry. It would show the progress gears, then the screen would go black, then it would show the usb cord and itunes icon/logo, then it would turn black again. Then it would stay black no matter what I did. Every time I ended up either holding down the power button or reseting it.

Try holding down power and home button to get to the restore screen.
    Then run blackra1n again

That isn't DFU mode, that is how you turn it on if it is all the way off.

    Uhm, no. That's DFU mode.
DFU (restore) mode, is when you hold down the Power and Home button simultaneously, then switching to home button only.
    DFU mode would work.

Put the touch in DFU mode, and re run the Jailbreak - it should work fine.

Right, and I never said to switch to home button.
