I have tried blackra1n and everytime it failed on me. When it worked, it'll get as far as the GeoHot image but then it will switch to a black screen, while the iPhone is in DFU mode, and stay there indefinitely. I know there are many others who are having this problem... Hopefully we can discuss this problem (and find some solution?)...

Maybe before you try jailbreak you should go to settings>general>reset>reset all settings

then try, had this problem before

I already restored from iTunes - 3 times. I can't spare the time to do it anymore as it is very troublesome. I have to reboot back to my OS X installation to resync... it sucks. I guell I'll just have to wait for a stable version to come out.

This has happened to me aswell. Tried it 3 times, keeps getting stuck on the bit where it is meant to automatically reboot.

Same here. It goes as far as the GeoHot image and turns black. By holding the power button + home, it gets out of dfu mode (still a black screen) but returns back to dfu mode.

I can't seem to get it to work on my 16GB 3GS either. I think I've tired everything
