    Here is a simple way that i found over the internet to get any iphone browser recognize the root of the blackra1n jailbreaked iPhone.

    log into the iPhone using ssh tool (i.e. WinSCP for Windows, Fugu for Mac)
    go to /System/Library/Lockdown/ and copy the file Services.plist to ur computer.

    edit the plist file using any text editor and add the following entries above the line that reads:

    <key>com.apple.crashreportcopy</key>
    Code:
    <key>com.apple.afc2</key>
    	<dict>
    		<key>Label</key>
    		<string>com.apple.afc2</string>
    		<key>ProgramArguments</key>
    		<array>
    			<string>/usr/libexec/afcd</string>
    			<string>--lockdown</string>
    			<string>-d</string>
    			<string>/</string>
    		</array>
    	</dict>
    Save the file and move it back to the device over writting the original file. (its advisable to make a backup before u overwrite).
    reboot the device and after that u'll be able to browse the root with any iphone browsing tools

    lightningdude: It works for me, hope it works for the rest of you, too.

    SSH is easy if you have wifi, but if you don't, I guess you just wait for dev team's jailbreak to be ported to Windows. Sorry!

    you can setup and ad-hoc network if you don't have wifi. or you can use ifile as a web server to transfer files.

    Wow. Congratulations, I wouldn't have typed that all in on my iPod, personally. Could have emailed it to yourself, then copy/paste. That's probably what I would have done. But nevertheless, glad you got it working! And sorry for the noob assumptions.

    Saw something new on Cydia today called "afc2add".
    I'm pretty certain that this will also fix the file browser issues.
