is it possible at all for the iphone to be used like the blackberry's? If you put a blackberry in a case, the blackberry's screen turns off, if you take it out, it turns back on. Can the iPhone do this or is it capable of doing it?

Lol, exactly what I was thinking?

I think you should elaborate a little more.

it could probably be done that the iphone could go into standby mode when the light goes away.

its already done when your talking on the phone, the screen shuts off when you put it to your head and the light goes away, but maybe it could be made so that the iphone goes into standby mode when put in a case or in a pocket.

its all done with the light sensor to the left of the speaker on the front of the phone.

could be a really good idea, instead of having to keep locking it and unlocking it.

You're an idiot. He meant what he typed. How is it hard to understand what the OP is saying?

It might be possible, but I'm not sure. I think Skylar was able to make the iPod/iPhone dim, or lock, when you put it into your pocket because there was no light.
