My ipod touch 2g running on 3.0 firmware.jailbroken

My ipod died cause of low battery life, of course.

But then i plug it into my wall charger and turn it on, and it just stays at the apple logo boot screen, and then i get the spinning wheel and then nothing happens. After that it just goes to a black screen and sits there and does nothing. Then the apple logo will come up again and just keep doing it over and over again.

I have it in dfu mode right now.

What do i need to do?
Is there anything i can do without having to rejailbreak and lose all my sh*t?

any help would be greatly appreciated

just open redsn0w and rejailbreak. Make sure you uncheck Install Cydia, you will still have cydia and you will also have a working iPod. You will still have all your data.

Then I guess you have to do a DFU Restore. I guess something is wrong with your filesystem.
