I was wiping my iPod because I'm going on a trip this weekend and I don't want any freezes/inferences. I was in a hurry, and accidentally loaded iPhone 1.1.4 onto my iPod.My screen is black and nothing happens, and iTunes detects it as an iPhone.

Is there a way to fix?

How? iTunes tells me the iPhone is in recovery mode, and doing the conventional Shift, Restore, iPod firmware doesn't work. It fail's.

try downloading ZiPhone, and use it to put the iPod into DFU mode, and restore from there.

The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (5).

if you know how to get into dfu mode manually, keep tryin to restore using that. try restoring to earier firmwares like 1.1.1 if you have to, restart computer, try different usb port, a different computer, itunes 7.5 instead of 7.6 (if all else fails)

    hope this helps!
