i made a tutorial on this in another thread. Look at that for more info.

So first i checked itunes for updates. I found 2.0 and it asked me to buy it. I said no.
So i got the illegal one and put my ipod in DFU mode. I tried restoring to that firmware but i got error 6002 or something.

The file is not in the firmware folder on my pc!

ok next i restarted itunes and instead of doing a shift click restore i just clicked restore thinking it would go to 1.1.4. But then a window came up with the 2.0 agreement stuff!!!!! and now its downloading 2.0 for free! true itunes!!!

So either DFU mode gets itunes to download 2.0 for free, either my ipod is strange... Please test it out for me!

THIS IS LEGAL, I MEAN WHY WOULDNT IT BE. ITUNES JUST STARTS DOWNLOADING THINGS! NOT MY FAULT!

I might try that. Check if your account was credited.

I want to wait until 2.0 is jailbroken or PWNAGE 2.0 is released.

This worked for me, as well, but are app store apps working for you?

The "iPhone apps" work just fine for me, but anything from the store just automatically quits to the home screen when I try to run it...

I got the Update for free too off of iTunes (For my iPod Touch).

    Everything works fine.
