Bestbuy warranty (dead homebutton)

    Ipod touch 2G

    my home button is dead it's not working, nothing happens when i click it.

    the main problem is my ipod touch is jailbroken if i take it back to bestbuy will they ask that i jailbroke it or not. can they tell?.

    and yes i did restore it.

    Well if you restored it then it's not jailboken so they can't tell..

    nope, so long as its been restored, you're safe. Not to mention I would restore it before handing it in for any service anyways, so no one would have access to any of your contacts etc...

    Best Buy's warranty covers damage like that (Unlike Apple), and you restored, so you're safe.

    How are they going to know? You restored it, so its like a brand new ipod touch with a faulty home button. Just make something up about the home button breaking and you should be able to work something out.
