I'm not really bright when it comes to discussing video input/output, ratio, frames per second and stuff like that.

Here's my issue: I have some movies I've purchased online, and I plan on converting them to MP4 Format so they are viewable on the iPod Touch. I don't plan on watching these movies on a TV using the iPod Touch. So, what is the video screen size that covers the entire iPod Touch screen? I hate when a movie is so small, that I have to squint to see it on the device. If someone can please just tell me what size I need to use to get the best screen size result.

    Thanks!

.. Just double tap the screen while watching it to get full screen. Lol.

If it were that easy, I wouldn't be asking a more technically advanced question. Your method would be to "double tap" or select the "enlarge" arrows..problem is, the screen only gets a little bigger. Whereas I want to know what video size will cover the entire screen after I "double tap".

Well yea it enlarges, but only to the encoded file size. That's why it's so important to get it right when converting. -- If I'm watching something online, like streaming video and I double tap or enlarge, then it fits to the screen. But I guess it's different when it's downloaded on the device.

Download the free software handbrake and use that to convert your files; they have a preset specifically for iphone/ipod touch
