Hey guys! I'm looking for a new laptop preferably 12.1'' with at least 3GB RAM, 250GB HDD, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, and a CD/DVD RW drive. I'd like to run Windows XP Pro.

...I can't seem to find anything decent. I've owned a few Acer laptops and they were pretty decent. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks

Go for business (not consumer) HP's, IMO. I've used the HP 6730B extensively at work and I can say, it's a quality machine. $1200 AUD, if you know where to get it. 2.66Ghz, 2GB RAM, 15.4", Intel GPU, 160GB HDD. That runs XP perfectly, and an extra 2GB of RAM is only $50 or so now. The just-outdated 6730B had 4GB of RAM and a 320GB HDD. They might be going cheap now...

Not likely. Gateway is owned by Acer. And personally, I wouldn't trust an Acer laptop as far as I could throw it. I have, however, had a nice experience with the Veriton L460... but still. I prefer HP iron.

well i mean, im typing on my 680 dollar gateway, with 2.21 GHz quad core, and 6 GB ram with a ok graphics card (not great but not terrible.) ive had it for a year and a half or so and never have had an trouble with it, i found it easy to upgrade.
