I've always had Windows. Been very happy with it, Like the speed of the comps i've had.

I am on my 4th Computer now. I Currently have:

IBM Thinkpad 1GB/40Gb HD/1.4Ghz. Now running ubuntu. Its got a 15" Screen i think.

Dell Inspiron 530 Desktop. 2GB/288Gb HD/2.33 GHZ/ 2 Times 19" Flat screen monitors. Windows Vista Home prem.

I am happy with this setup.

But i've always wanted a Mac. But the price has been to dear for me. 1 Grand for a Non Working 13 year old, With £5 Per week pocket money, And Around £4 Per week profit from selling things at shcool. And Maybe add it xmas money, and b-day money. And i fish, And fishing tackle can be fairly dear, So it will take me AGES to get that amount of money.

So, I would like to Buy a second hand mac.

I should get around £70/100 Quid for my Birthday (28th April)

And I could save for around 5 Months. Thus giving me £170 Quid. And For another 20 quid or so. I could get a Little Acus Eee PC.

So, What second hand mac could i get?

I would like a Laptop mac. Or anything xD

    But it needs to have:

    1GB + of RAM
    Good Graphics card.
    At least 1.8 Ghz Processor.
    Over 60Gb HD.

    Fairly Low specs?

Baring it mind, for about 100 quid more, I could get a fairly high spec Windows machine.

So i'm going to have to be pleased with this.

I have thought those, PowerMacs g4 look all right.

Don't mind buying a Monitor (Dell/HP Monitors will Work?)

So, Is that the right choice. Needs to be Running a good mac osx, so most programs will work.

You might say, Well what you need it for?

    I'll Reply.

I don't need it. I want to try Mac OS X.
I Want to have a mac.
    Macs are cool.
And its something new to learn.

And if i like it, Might consider investing into a more powerfull mac.

Also, A cheap Wireless thingy for a mac? Or the Machine needs to have Wifi.

    Thanks

A refurb mac mini is likely the cheapest one you can get, and the one that will vest suit you needs, it won't have a good graphics card though.

If you are really strapped fro cash, I suggest just getting a PC

Hands down, the iMac. I think its the best All-In-One desktop. Great price, great specs. Does what you need. Better than a MacMini, cheaper than a Mac Pro. Its right in between.

    Read the specifications at www.apple.com/mac
All the specifications you'd want are there.
I'd go with the iMac. Awesome.

If you want a nice machine, I would not buy a PowerMac G4.
Go for one of the newest models. It's a great investment.

All of the Macs (current generations, at least) have Wi-Fi built into them, so no need to worry about that. Let me know if there's anything else you need!

All I can say is that a Mac is an awesome machine, and is worth saving for.

The prices may seem a little high, but you won't be thinking that once you're using it.

How much (in the UK). Will the iMac cost? Second hand, Refurbed?

Did you read how long it will take me to get the money?

When i'm 14, i can get like a sunday job.

But i doubt it will pay well.

Need a all right machine. for a cheap price.

Don't suggest a PC. Please. Bloody hell. I'm on my 4th PC. Two of them got f***ed. One i fixed.

I want a mac. For basic needs. To mess about with. I'll probably fall in love at first site.

Could you get a refurbed iMac for like, 300 Quid?

    xD

Open(3) is a good, cheap alternative. It's $599, and has OSX Leopard.

i wouldn't buy an open computer until the lawsuit is settled. if they lose, which is most likely, you won't be able to update.
