W/e I'm a newb. LOL getting an ipod touch in a couple days , and I was wondering what the best firmware is to use for jailbraking. Comptability wise, performance wise. Overall best firmware to jailbreak.

    I think 1.1.1 is easiest.
Downgrade, ijailbreakme.com (on your ipod), DONE!

K but are their any advantages to 1.1.1 over say 1.1.4 or w/e. Like stability wise. Crashes. What not.

1.1.2 and 1.1.1 are equal in stability. but way more apps work in 1.1.2. 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 tend to hav even more apps not work moreso then 1.1.1. So your best bet is probably totry 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 even tho they are the two hardest. pm me if u hav any questions

I'd suggest 1.1.4 because it is the easiest. However, it is easier to mess up (after jailbreaking) and have to restore. For at home I recommend 1.1.4 (compatibility with apps mainly)

for taking on trips where you need your iPod I'd say 1.1.1 (stability) or not jailbroken at all.

I recommend jailbreaking 1.1.1 for someone who has just got an iPod Touch and then experimenting with other firmwares and pwnage after you get bored or want something kind of different. Hope this helps make up your mind.

i Say you experiment with 1.1.1, learn how to SSH and frameworks and all that.
Then jailbreak with ZiPhone or something.
I stayed in 1.1.1 because i thought 1.1.3 or above has many errors. But now they've got fixes and symlinks fixes so its very easiest. Besides they are all on installer. Its a piece of cake
