    IMO it would be a steal without a contract. Dataplans are a joke. I hate cellphones!

    Yeah for $50 bucks, they might as well make it free. I wonder if they will do something similar with the 4S once the new phone comes out

    I'm sure they will. Right now, the iPhone 3GS is free on AT&T (it's the only carrier that the phone works on), the iPhone 4 is $49 at cheapest, and the 4S is $149 at cheapest -- refurbished.
