How difficult is it to scratch the ipod touch's screen? Is a screen protector really necessary?

i would only get a screen protector because sometimes when your hands are dry, your finger doesnt slide good on the screen so the screen protector fixes this problem

Yeah I've had mine for a couple days and there are no scratches at all. However, I will probably be throwing it in my backpack a lot, so I will probably grab a screen protector.

Also it doesn't attract as many fingerprints. But they can be a pain to apply.
