Just wondering what the benefits of upgrading to 1.1.1.4 are? I am very comfortable with all my apps and such on .3 and from what I understand, the next FW 2.0 will be JB compatible anyway (June release)?

Thanks and I did search for this question...

    Thanks...

I thought I recalled reading that about .4, no "discernible difference."

PS I did do a search first, and I indicated that in my post.

    Cheers

How did you jailbreak 1.1.3? I had a dev team soft break for 1.1.3 and decided to restore to 1.1.4 and jailbreak it with Ziphone 2.5c for a hard break. Expect to spend alot of time in SSH getting back to how you were (and make sure you back up applications, /var/mobile and /var/root to your computer first)

There are benefits, but they are pretty hard to detect in normal use. For me I wanted a hard break, and as far as I can tell after a week and a half it is more stable, Safari looks better and works better, I can't say I have noticed a volume difference.

I was stuck on 1.1.1 for ages, and then I read on this forum a thread where someone said why stay on a lower firmware when you have nothing to loose by upgrading, you can always go back if you don't like it. That kind of stuck with me, and I realised that I was in a comfort zone on my current firmware, and that put me off upgrading.

If you have jailbreaked already and have your touch customised then upgrades are that bit harder as to get back to how you had everything means backing up your current set up to your pc and then trying to get it all back on your new firmware.

1.1.4 has been far more stable for me over the course of the day I've been using it.
Audio is slightly louder, but apart from that. No difference.

If 1.1.3 is stable for you, stay there.

I have been on 1.1.4 for about 10 hrs now and I dont notice 1 singal diference between 1.1.3 & 1.1.4. I'm not sure what bug fixes there are. But I never noticed any bugs on 1.1.3. Exept the ones that I coused.

So far everything is running great and hopefuly will untill 2.0.
I would only sugest doing it if you had to restore or your having problems with the FW your on.
