I ordered my iPod Touch Thursday, October 2. It was shipped from Apple the following day with FedEX from Shanghai, China. My iPod Touch 2G 8gb arrived from FedEX Monday, October 6. Before I ordered my iPod Touch I picked up a case from my local F.Y.E store for $28 including tax. The case is called the Belkin Sonic Wave Silicone Sleeve (manufacturer's page)

Below I will review the case and features....

    Packaging

The case is very straight forward when opening the package. It has a clear sticker which must be removed then you simply pull the flap up and slide the plastic case housing out and pull the case out. The case comes with nothing, just the case it self.

Here is the case after it has been removed from the packaging...

    Installation
Installing the case is very easy, all you have to is slide the iPod Touch in and pull the opposing end over.

    Durability and Protection
This case will absorb an impact if it was dropped at about thigh level. The case comes out a little around the screen so it can wrap around the device so if I place my iPod Touch on the table screen face down the screen won't touch the table, only the case's edges will, fully protecting the iPod Touch from drops all around the device.

The durability of the case is very very good, something you should already expect from Belkin. The case doesn't feel like it will tear or lose it's form. The case does have a really tight fit on my iPod Touch like said by Belkin. The case hardly, surprisingly, doesn't really even pick up lint or dust. Maybe because my pockets are clean.

    Looks and Feel

The design of the case is what attracted me to buy it. I was looking for case that would add hardly any bulky at all and will cover up the back of the iPod Touch and leave the scratch proof front face uncovered. The case leaves all of the ports accessible while the case is on. The case has a very nice feel in your hands because of the grip. I personally rather use my iPod Touch while in the case then without it since it feels like my iPod Touch may slip out my hands when it's bare. Like I said earlier this case really shines with the little amount of bulk it adds as well as the design on the back.

Design at the back of the case:

    Pros
    • Great Feel
    • Nice design on the back
    • Charge, sync, your iPod Touch while case is on
    • Very tight fit
    • Adds hardly any bulk at all

    Cons
    • May pick up lint depending on how clean your pockets are
    • Doesn't offer protection found in hard cases

    Ratings

    Durability and Protection: 8/10

hmm looks cool... although i don't agree totally that silicone doesn't offer the same protection as hard cases... some hard cases fit just not tight enough, allowing your ipod to slide around from time to time and inevitably scratch the metal back. Good find though.

    Found in Apple Store

Hey guys, I went to the Apple store in Providence Place today and saw that they had these cases in stock. Unfortunately I did not see any incase or griffin in stock yet.

sh*t. I bought this on Friday for my 1G. Mine has RED stripes on the back instead of gray. Overall, it's an OK fit, and feels GREAT.
