I have read around and i've read a lot of things, like:

So, after this whole week of reading i ask:

How should i jailbreak after all? Same as with my 2G Iphone? i used Pwnage Tool with it.

    What's the baseband deal for?

Also i read about this whole "ECID", "SHSH", "tethered", "untethered"... SO MANY things, i'm really lost here, please, someone help me out.

Thanks in advance for any replies!

ADDED: I have an iPhone 3G, i am on T-Mobile, in case that's necessary info.

Baseband: By upgrading your firmware, you may upgrade your baseband which means you cannot unlock your iDevice to use it with other carriers. I am not familiar with this as well as other issues. If you have an early 3G iPhone, you can upgrade to 3.1.2 and still be able to unlock.

ECID/SHSH: These are signatures that allow you to freely upgrade and downgrade your iDevice. You are on an MB serial number which means you are "pwnd4life". You will not have to worry about this.

Tethered: This means you have to connect your iDevice to the computer to boot it up. You will not be tethered if you use the Spirit jailbreak. You are also on the MB serial number iPhone so you can ALWAYS avoid being tethered.

Untethered: You can freely boot and shut off your device fully.
