The one in the homepage was a 8g, PHEW!

Until someone tears down a 32gb or 64 gb theres no need to panic yet.

32 and 64 and probably going to have 512 mb while 8 gets an upgrade to 256.

It makes sense because the 8gb price didnt even increase that much.

I doubt it. Why should they do such a thing? Currently, the only known difference between all models is the memory chip. Additional differences would significantly complicate the manufacturing process.

...I really don't think so. The 8GB has all the same features as the 32 and 64, why would they not put in the same RAM?

    Quoted from ifix it.

    No-one tore down a 32 or 64 gb yet.

There is still hope, and I'm positive they get 512 mb.

yea really. Just because the last generation 8GB didn't get the upgrades doesn't mean that this one won't also

You're forgetting the difference between the 8GB and 32/64GB models last year was clearly listed on the product information page, and in support documents. This year, there's now no distinction between the capacities whatsoever.

Also, I read on another forum that someone who claims to have a 32GB model has stated GeekBench reported only 256MB.

    The 3G 8GB was actually a 2G. The only true 3G started at 32GB.

This time around, all iPod are 4G. All will have the same specs, I promise.

The 8GB last year was essentially a re-branded 2nd gen.

This year, all the models are the same.

256MB of RAM still is plenty for multitasking. Just look at the 3GS.

It seems like a plausible theory. Let's wait and see if this is true.
