I was a member on here back when the 1G and 2G iPod Touches and 2G iPhone were the only things.

Back when I had my iPod Touch, I was a really good jailbreaker, but I have long since had one.

I am getting a 3GS to replace my LG Xenon tomorrow, and I need a little advice.

I'm not sure if it's a new bootrom or an old bootrom, I'll find that out tomorrow when I get it. My question is this: The old bootrom is the one that's jailbreakable, right?

And I know there is a tethered iOS4 jailbreak, soon to be an untethered one. Should I just stick to 3.1.3 until the untethered comes out?

    1. Depends on which firmware, iOS4 has a tethered JB, 3.1.3 has a untethered. The old bootrom is the one that is untethered always.
    2. If I were you, I would stick to 3.1.3, iOS4 jailbroken app compatibility is unbelievable

Hopefully my seller doesn't upgrade to iOS4 then. Or at least backed up the SHSH blobs for me...

A new one will be tethered
A few apps are compatible, like Winterboard, and some others
MobileTerminal isnt compatible, so you cant change your SSH password
Look at the iOS4 compatibility list to see if its worth jailbreaking

Oh yeah...I forgot about that. Hmm.
But I think I'll just stick to 3.1.3

I can use last.fm on my PC :]

I'm actually not too worried about my SSH password, I only use that very rarely to install a .deb file or two. :]

its good to change it, anyone can access your iPod/iPhone if you don't there was a guy in the US that was hacking iPhones that way a while ago
