If you are Jailbroken, Maybe quit some of the background processes thats taking up the CPU

My iPod battery drains within 1.5 hr of surfing. Mine is a new one not even attepted to jailbreak.

Depends on what you're running, yup. This means PocketTouch, among others which runs background processes to do the gesture parts when not in PocketTouch itself (it runs as as service). Otherwise, it should be about the same as a non-JB 2.1.

I have mine on standby , with a full battery, and it drains until the evening without even using it for one second.
With the previous upgrade, 2.01, the battery would last for 3 days.
Is there any way we can downgrade?

    regards

Just have the Firmware 2.0.1 firmware handy and shift-restore to it. However, if you're draining that fast then there's gotta be something in the background running that's keeping your iPod from going into a proper sleep mode, complete with the WiFi getting turned off... and I suspect that if you do a clean upgrade to 2.1 and leave it alone, you won't have a battery life issue, ditto if you JB it and don't install anything.

Eight times out of ten, when people complain about their battery life going down, it's either because they didn't upgrade it correctly (bad custom firmwares, etc) or else they have something installed that's running all the time and killing CPU life. Something like, say... Location Services, Fetch Data, or some program like PocketTouch in the background.
