I was wondering since some people are able to get the battery percentage when restoring to a backup with it enabled if you could just edit the backup and enable it the restore to the backup. Is this possible?

    Yep, it's possible.

However, the backups are encrypted. I wouldn't know where to begin "editing" the backup.

To give you an idea, here's what my backup folder looks like. Notice the bottom of the photo, see how many items there are in that folder?

Yes, if you have a backup of an iDevice which had battery percentage enabled (either legitimately or through a jailbreak) it will show up right after you restore.

There are a few third party programs that you can use to edit these backups. The one I use is called "iBackupbot for iTunes".

I just haven't found out how to get the battery percentage on there yet.

Oh sweet, I never knew one existed. In that case, I'll see what I can do about getting you a backup

I saw that thread, but it doesn't apply to the iPT4g. It's folder hierarchy is different (and confusing)

Here's how you use ibackupbot to get battery percentage:
