Does the battery go down faster when you use the gba emulator?

i came directly to the forum to post the exact same thing.

I was wondering if it is normal that when playing GBA games (pokemon emerald, to be more specific) the battery life only lasts 2-3 hours.

    anyone else experiencing this ?

well yea of course your going to lose a lot of battery life us gpsphone, look what your running on your ipod.

but turn off your wifi connection while playing and your battery will last a little longer...

It is not unusual, just make sure SSH and Wifi are off, turn down your brightness a bit, and make sure all background apps. are closed.
Thats about all you can do.

Yeah, for me I think I get about 4 hours? Never really played until it died out, but about 3-4 hours is about right.

For those who want to conserve more battery, just do the basics, Wi-Fi off, SSH off, Brightness down, BUT don't scale the screen. If you have the full screen on, you use more battery, but it's your opinion. I prefer it on.

Also, if you need to close background applications, you can go into Summerboard or SysInfo and Restart the Springboard. This clears anything that is running, I don't know if it's already mentioned but it's better than manually closing every app.
