i have a ipod touch 2nd generation and when i upgraded to 3.0 i started having battery problams. last month i would charge my ipod and it would be good for a week, not i charge it 4 times a day i make sure that no apps are still open, brightness at the lowest and it still goes from 100% to 0% in a a few minutes. Also i have tried turning it off for a a night and it went from 90% down to 10%...off. it doesnt drain as much when not in use and blank but it still drains more then neccesary

go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data. Turn push off, then reboot.

It might be the Wifi thats draining the battery so turn it off while you don't use it.

I would suggest an DFU restore. I had this problem on 3.0, and I`ve restored and it worked fine.
