    Warranty question

Might be a little off topic but is there any utility out there (hardware or software either on the PC on one that runs on the ipod/iphone itself) that can tell you how much battery capacity you've lost? (Charge retention info etc). Obviously you could use the official specs to compare how long the device lasts in use and if it's less than half the time then you could assume accordingly, but methods like these wouldn't be too dependable.

Basically I'm trying to figure out when to send my ipod/iphone in for a new battery since Apple replaces them for free if they're in warranty once their capacity is reduced to 50%.

Considering it takes hundreds of charge/discharge cycles to reduce a battery's capacity to 80%, it would many years to get to 50%. I wouldn't worry about your battery loosing capacity.

It's a 2nd gen ipod touch which I just got a few weeks ago. But yeah g0rillo makes sense there although the way I constantly use them (the phone and the touch), I'd probably get to 50% a lot quicker.

decreasing brightness will save a lot of battery life..

so, this poll isnt entirely accurate, as there are those with full brightness, and those who leave it on its lowest setting..
