I have been having some serious battery problems after upgrading to 4.0 GM on my iPod2G.

When I watch a 5-minute YouTube video my battery is decreased by about 7%.

Playing an app for about 10-minutes decreases the battery by about 5%.

I believe I have found the culprit, and Apple was right: multitasking and homescreen wallpapers can't support the old hardware.

By jailbreaking and enabling these features, my battery life was crippled (I had to re-charge my device twice within about 4 hours). I SSH'ed into my device and removed these features from the .plist and instantly saw a better battery life.

I would just like to know if anyone else is experiencing these same issues? or if there is a way to enable these features without the massive dip in battery life?

Nope, not on my 3G, and its hardware is a bit older then the iTouch 2G. Also, actually quitting the processes might help you with the battery issue. I used my 3G for daily use and got around 3 hours of text, web, phone calls, and music. Thats after charging it last too btw.
